In 2005 Old Square Chambers purchased 10-11 Bedford Row, WC1. The building, previously owned by the British Federation of Master Printers since 1938, underwent an extensive refurbishment and was occupied on 1 October 2006 as their London Chambers.
No. 11 Bedford Row is the most elaborate of the houses in a street which, in spite of some rebuilding, is among the best in London for the surviving buildings of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The developer of this property was Nicholas Barbon, probably the most important of the building speculators in London during the last quarter of the 17th century.
One attractive feature of the building is the entrance hall with its oak staircase and wall and ceiling paintings now over 250 years old (see picture to left).
Bedford Row is centrally sited and is within 5 minutes walk of both Chancery Lane and Holborn underground stations and within easy travelling distance of major train stations including Victoria, London Bridge, Charing Cross, Paddington, Kings Cross St Pancras and Marylebone Stations.
The building, spread over 5 floors, provides period and modern offices for 50 barristers, incorporating a tastefully decorated reception area and waiting room, a comprehensive library and 5 conference rooms able to accommodate parties from 2 to 20 dependant on client requirements. Our basement conference rooms can be amalgamated to comfortably seat 50 - 60 people for seminars and other such events. We regularly host and cater for Old Square Chambers seminars, briefs, training workshops and other events at our premises and facilate events for and on behalf of our clients.
Staff are accommodated in a modern open plan space to the rear of the building. The building is fully DDA Compliant
and has a secure garage entrance from Jockey's Field.
