TUPE in 2010 - Practical guidance on the impact of TUPE regulation on business

Thursday 18th May, 5.5 CPD, Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten London, WC2H 9HD

Devised and created by Michael Rubenstein, Editor, Industrial Relations Law Reports, this leading TUPE event will cover the most recent case law that has affected TUPE rights and duties and will also review cases that are in the pipeline.

If you are responsible for advising on employment law or for developing personnel policies, you will want to ensure that you understand not only the latest cases which have been reported, but also the significance of the next cases to be reported both at UK and EC level.

Recent cases to be reviewed include:

  • Parkwood Leisure v Alemo-Herron on the transfer of rights from a collective agreement
  • Unison v Somerset County Council on identifying “affected employees” for information and consultation purposes
  • Cable Realisations Ltd v GMB Northern and Royal Mail Group Ltd v Communication Workers Union on the scope of the duty to inform

This conference will also cover:

  • Transfer of an economic entity, service provision change as well as secondees
  • Informing and consulting, employee liabilities and remedies
  • How the law has changed vis-à-vis the legal effects of a transfer
  • Contractual variations and unfair dismissal
  • Outsourcing from the public to the private sector, as well as structuring an outsourcing agreement
