Reporting to the Senior Clerk, Old Square Chambers is now recruiting for an Aged Debt Manager.
The responsibilities for the role are to actively pursue the entire aged debt associated with all members and pupils of Chambers, attaining and exceeding annual income targets. This includes managing our Aged Debt Assistant and overseeing banking functions and transferring of fees, all aged debt related administration and reporting from the Case Management System and advising members and clerks on ensuring all mechanisms are in place to ensure debt can be collected effectively.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a Chambers environment in this or a similar role. They will be highly personable, have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and a confident and professional approach with a committed attitude. This role also demands strong negotation skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, whilst remaining calm.
A strong knowledge of case management systems, ideally LEX, to include workflow processes and administration of the same, is key to this role. A sound and demonstrable understanding of various funding types, including CFAs, is essential and ideally the candidate will have experience of dealing with insurers/unions/local governments. The ideal candidate will also have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to use Microsoft Office generally.
