Old Square Chambers is offering a third six pupillage at its Bristol annexe, to start as soon as possible. The pupillage is unfunded, but the successful candidate can expect to generate their own earnings through a busy practice appearing in the county courts and employment tribunals.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a strong academic record, excellent communication skills and a capacity to manage a busy civil practice involving regular travel to courts and tribunals around the UK. The successful candidate will also have court or tribunal advocacy experience and a demonstrable interest in Chambers’ main practice areas and a desire to be based at the Bristol premises
Chambers seeks to expand its presence in Bristol and will review its recruitment requirements in March 2017. Should there be any tenancy vacancy in Bristol, applications from third six pupils will be considered before those of external candidates.
Third six pupils do not pay contributions on their first £20,000 of earnings.
Interested candidates should email their CV and a covering letter (including references) to Sarah Earl, Head of Administration (email@example.com). Candidates shortlisted for interview will be asked to supply a piece of recent written work in support of their application.
Closing date: 31st July 2016
Chambers does not at this time have any specific tenancy vacancies. If however you are interested in joining us, please do contact either Katherine Newton (Head of the Tenancy Committee) or William Meade (Senior Clerk) for a confidential discussion.
