Old Square Chambers is offering a 3rd 6 pupillage commencing early October 2017, based in London and Bristol. The pupillages are unfunded but pupils can expect to be busy appearing in the County Court and/or Employment Tribunals.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a strong academic record, excellent communication skills and a capacity to manage a busy civil practice involving regular travel to Courts and/or Tribunals away from base. The successful candidate will have experience of advocacy in court or tribunal.
Whilst the pupillage is not “with a view to tenancy”, Chambers will review its recruitment requirements in March 2018 and will consider any 3rd six pupils before external candidates should there be any appropriate vacancy. This may be a real opportunity for a strong candidate who has been unsuccessful at his/her first choice set.
Third six pupils do not pay contributions on their first £20,000 of earnings.
Interested candidates should email a copy of their CV and a covering letter (including references) detailing their interest to Sarah Earl, Head of Administration (firstname.lastname@example.org). If shortlisted for interview, you will be asked to supply a piece of written work in support of your application.
Closing date: 31st August 2017.
