News - Brian Cummins Representing Hundreds of Claimants at the Infected Blood Inquiry

- Brian Cummins

Brian Cummins will represent hundreds of NHS patients were infected with blood-borne viruses including HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis by contaminated blood products imported from the US in the 1970s and 1980s. Many were infected by supplies of factor VIII, an essential blood-clotting protein that haemophiliacs do not produce naturally.

The inquiry, which began on Tuesday 30th April 2019 and is led by retired Judge Sir Brian Langstaff, will consider evidence from approximately 2,500 people.  The scandal has been labelled ‘the worst tragedy in the history of the NHS’ and expected to last approximately two years.

Brian is instructed by Collins Solicitors.
