News - OSC instructed in challenge to PPE Guidance for Health & Social Care Workers in context of COVID-19

- Nadia Motraghi, Alex Shellum

Nadia Motraghi and Alex Shellum are instructed to act on behalf of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (‘BAPIO’), who have been named as an Interested Party to a claim for judicial review against the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and Public Health England.

The challenge concerns the lawfulness of the Personal Protective Equipment Guidance issued by the Defendants, which the Claimants - Dr Nishant Joshi and Dr Meenal Viz - claim expose health and social care workers to COVID-19. BAPIO, as the largest membership organisation for BAME doctors in the UK, supports the Claimants in this judicial review.

Counsel are instructed by Sarah Dodds of Medical Defence Shield.
