Clinical Negligence - Sophie Beesley

Sophie Beesley of Old Square Chambers has been appointed as Counsel to the Independent Inquiry into the issues raised by Paterson. Philip Dunne, Minister of State for Health, set up the inquiry, under the chairmanship of the Right Reverend Graham James, Lord Bishop of Norwich, following the conviction of surgeon Ian Paterson.  The inquiry is reviewing the circumstances surrounding Ian Paterson’s malpractice that have affected so many patients and considering other past and current practices. The inquiry aims to learn lessons and to make recommendations to improve the safety and quality of care provided nationally to all patients in the independent sector and in the NHS.
