Old Square Chambers barristers appear for individuals and regulatory bodies in Judicial Reviews of professional regulatory decisions.  We have particular expertise in equality issues, by reference to the Public Sector Equality Duty, ECHR and discrimination law. Advice is also given on equality matters in relation to the new Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme, the setting of the Discount Rate, Free Schools and the operation of public sector cuts.

Ben Collins is a Special Advocate and has developed vetting security clearance. He appears in a range of disputes where national security is in issue, recent examples;

  • Terrorism concerns in relation to immigration and police staff
  • Inquests into military deaths and the use of firearms in the protection of the nuclear stockpile
  • He has also been instructed (often at short notice) to seek injunctions to protect national security and individuals.
